Taste 2018: the best of the Italian taste in Florence, March 10 – 12
Year after year (this is the 13th edition) TASTE is one of the best occasions not only in Florence, but in Italy, to… taste in the same place, at the same time, a very good lot of the top notch Italian food & wine production products.
Taste 2018: when and where
TASTE is an “hybrid” fair: for professionals and for general public as well. This 13th edition is from March Saturday 10th to Monday 12th.
The entrance timing for professionals is between 9.30AM and 2.30PM (Saturday, Sunday).
The weekend entrance timing for general public is between 2.30PM and 7.30PM.
Professionals and general public share the same entrance timing on Monday 12th: between 9.30AM and 4.30PM.
The Leopolda
The Exhibition’s site is the Stazione Leopolda, not far from the very centre of Florence and the Santa Maria Novella train station.
The Leopolda is an important building of the Florence modern history.
It is named after Leopold II, Grand Duke of Tuscany (1797-1870, Grand Duke between 1824 and 1859) and it was the first Florence train station, the terminus of the Livorno – Pisa – Florence line.
In 1860, the Leopolda became the State revenue office while Florence was the capital town of the newborn, united Italy.
Bombed in 1944, it has been a warehouse of the Italian train company until 1993, then, after a restoration, and the Pitti Foundation ownership, it is now a space for fairs, shows, conferences.
Fuori di Taste
“Out of TASTE” is a series of events related to the main exhibition but set in another venues: some of the beautiful Florence Caffetterie and bars.
If you are going to be in Florence for a springy break, the weekend of this incredibly rich and interesting food and wine (and much more) fair could be the perfect time for a visit, if you are not scared by the chance of being a bit fatter on your way back… 😉
