Florence Palazzo Strozzi exhibitions: a trilogy
The Cinquecento in Florence is the last in a series of three exhibitions by Carlo Falciani and Antonio Natali, after the Bronzino (2010) and Pontormo & Rosso Fiorentino (2014).
The Cinquecento in Florence is going to showcase works by Michelangelo, Bronzino, Giorgio Vasari, Rosso Fiorentino, Pontormo, Santi di Tito, Giambologna and Bartolomeo Ammannati.
The Florence XVI Century “mood”
As it always was, and it always will be, the Arts reflect the spirit of the times around the artists. The XVI Century was troubled times indeed: the Palazzo Strozzi exhibitions aims to explore the
cultural and intellectual talent marked both by the Council of Trent and its Counter-Reformation, and by the personality of Francesco I de’ Medici, one of the greatest figures in the history of courtly patronage of the arts in Europe.
It will be really interesting how such great artist reacted in a century of uncertainty and turmoil.
